EHS Cadaveric Hernia Masterclass in Barcelona was fully booked and a success.
The cadaver lab was arranged by a faculty of abdominal wall experts at the well
purposed facilities at Escola Superior d’Infermeria del Mar.

The lab consisted of short lectures followed by thoroughly guided dissection and
operative training sections. Training included techniques for inguinal hernia,
Lichtenstein and TAPP, and for umbilical hernia, TAPP and PUMP. Advanced
techniques for ventral hernias repair including component separation, Rives-
Stoppa and Transversus Abdominus Release (TAR) were also showed. The
cadaver lab was finalized with training in correct incision closure technique, the
small bites. One of the highlights of the course was when participants used the
Suture-TOOL for laparotomy closure. Suture-TOOL is a new suturing choice for
abdominal wall closure.
